Patrick Kane (born 19 November 1988) is an American ice hockey player who plays as a right winger for the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. He was picked first by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2007 NHL Draft and played for them until February 2023, when he was traded to the New York Rangers. Kane has also played for the United States in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. Kane was encouraged by his father since childhood to play ice hockey.
