Allah Ghazanfar is a 18 year old Afghani spinner, who was recently sold for a whopping Rs 4.80 Crore in the IPL 2025 Auction. He was bought by the five time champions, Mumbai Indians after an intense bidding session. Ghazanfar could become the next big thing in spin bowling after the likes of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad from Afghanistan Cricket Team.

Allah Ghazanfar Career
Ghazanfar started playing cricket in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. He began as a fast bowler but now bowls off-spin, after learning from former Afghanistan captain Dawlat Ahmadzai. His bowling is compared to Mujeeb Zadran. Ghazanfar trains at the Mirza Mohammad Katawazai Cricket Centre in Kabul and has trained with Afghanistan’s under-19 team.

He played for Mis Ainak Knights in the Afghan Shpageeza Cricket League, taking 1/27 in his debut match. In 2022, he joined the Pakistan Junior League with Rawalpindi Raiders. He was also part of the 2023 IPL auction but went unsold. In 2024, Ghazanfar joined Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman. He was selected for the Lanka Premier League and drafted to Rangpur Riders for the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League.
In 2023, Ghazanfar played in the Green Afghanistan One Day Cup and was part of Afghanistan’s squad for the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, taking 3 wickets against New Zealand. He made his debut for the senior Afghanistan team against Ireland at 16 years old.
